National Weather Service meteorologists in Grand Rapids predict strong currents and high waves, which will make for dangerous swimming conditions in Lake Michigan.
Beach visitors can expect to see red flags along the shoreline, meaning stay out of the lake and off the piers,. Waves can sweep people into the water. The south sides of piers will be especially dangerous on Thursday.
