Michael John DeKock age 55 was called home by his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ July 9, 2021. Mike was born in Zeeland, MI on July 16, 1965, and grew up in Jamestown. He graduated from Unity Christian, was a member of Holland Northpoint Assembly of God, and was an electrician at Parkway Electric, also worked in renewable energy, and most recently worked at Kerkstra Precast. He was an avid outdoorsman, strongly dedicated to his family and his faith, always sharing the love of Jesus with everyone. He will be dearly missed for his kindness, humor, gentleness, and willingness to serve anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his Mother-in-Law Sue Rumsey. He’s survived by his wife of 33 years, Brenda DeKock, his Parents Donald & Judy DeKock, his children Joe (Lindsay) DeKock, Andrew (Coby) Sorensen, Alyssa (Max) Blumer, siblings: Sue (Bob) Piantkowski; Sandy (Tom) Soodsma, Kurt (Kristin) DeKock, Father-in-Law Joseph Rumsey, in-laws: Sharon (Rodney) Becksvoort, Lynnette Rumsey, Louis (Nicole) Rumsey, and ten grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial services will be Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Northpoint Assembly of God, 4200 152nd Ave. in Holland at 2:00 p.m. The family will greet visitors an hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland of Northpoint Assembly of God.
