WOMEN’S GOLF
Five Hope College women’s golfers have been named Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars for the 2020-21 school year: seniors Abigail Meder and Jordyn Rioux, sophomores Rita Cheney and Grace VanDellen, and freshman Emlin Munch.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. The WGCA recognized a total of 1,432 women’s collegiate golfers.
Meder (Lansing, Michigan / Lansing Catholic HS) claimed the WGCA honor for the fourth time in her career. An All-MIAA First Team selection this season, Meder graduated in May after majoring her double major of biology and psychology.
Rioux (Farmington, Michigan / Livonia Ladywood) earned the WGCA award for the fourth time in her career. An All-MIAA Second Team honoree this season, Rioux graduated in May after majoring in K-8 English Education.
VanDellen (Oxford, Michigan / Lutheran Northwest) repeated as a WGCA Scholar All-American. An All-MIAA Second Team selection this season, VanDellen is majoring in biomedical and biomechanical engineering.
Cheney (Mason, Michigan / Mason) is a two-time WGCA Scholar All-American. Cheney is majoring in biology.
Munch (Traverse City, Michigan / Central) claimed the honor for the first time.
