HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland State Park officials have put a yellow flag on the beach, alerting swimmers to be cautious in Lake Michgian and “keep an eye out for changing conditions as well as pop-up thunderstorms.”
By midday Wednesday, July 7, 2021, waves were two feet high and the water temperature 68 degrees.
National Weather Service meteorologists in Grand Rapids issued a special weather statement, effective until 4:15 p.m., predicting strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon.
They expect wind gusts above 40 mph, possibly small hail, and heavy downpours. People who need to travel for work or other reasons should plan accordingly.
