DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Matt Manning had a solid start in the Detroit Tigers 6-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in Detroit Wednesday afternoon.
Manning earned his first MLB win after allowing two runs in five-and-two-thirds innings. Daz Cameron hit a solo shot in the fourth and Jonathan Schoop drove in three runs, including a fifth-inning solo bomb.
John Gant gave up four walks and three runs in three innings for St. Louis, and Nolan Arenado had a solo homer in the second inning.
St. Louis has dropped five of six and Detroit is riding a three-game winning streak.
Detroit continues their home stand tonight as the Houston Astros visit for a four-game set. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
