HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Two Tallmadge Township women, a 41-year-old, and a 17-year-old, may face charges in a dog-theft case, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s authorities.
Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett indicated his office was contacted by detectives from the Holmes County, Ohio, Sheriff’s Office, asking for help in finding 10 French bulldogs stolen from an Ohio breeder. The breeder told police similar dogs were being offered for sale online, and detectives traced the alleged sellers to the 900 block of Leonard Street in Tallmadge Township.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies contacted a resident in the 900 block of Leonard Street and found 10 French bulldogs, who were chipped. The technology confirmed the dogs had been stolen from Ohio. Each dog is valued at approximately $6,000.
Sheriff’s authorities made arrangements for the dogs to be reunited with their owner.
