HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Meteorologists from the National Weather Service’s Grand Rapids office issued a beach-hazards statement, in effect until later today, Monday, June 21, 2021.
The twin threats of high waves and strong currents make for dangerous swimming conditions. Piers will continue to be heavily swamped by waves.
Beaches in the following counties are affected: Ottawa, Allegan, Muskegon, Mason, Oceana, and Van Buren.
Authorities are urging people to stay out of the water and off the piers. Some beaches may be closed as a precaution and people with plans to visit them should check the status in advance.
