HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Three people were hurt, one critically, after an Allegan County police chase just before 5 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2021, according to Allegan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ben Haas.
It started when a deputy attempted a traffic stop on M89 in Trowbridge Township. The driver fled the area, heading north on 24th Street, not stopping at the intersection at M-222 in Watson Township. The suspect’s vehicle crashed into two others at the intersection, according to Haas.
The suspect driver went to an area hospital in critical condition, one victim driver went by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and the third driver was treated and released from an area hospital.
The deputy involved in the chase avoided the crash and was not hurt.
The Michigan State Police crash reconstruction team is investigating the crash.
Allegan police, LIFE EMS, Wayland EMS, West Michigan Air Care, Allegan Fire District and Hopkins firefighters assisted at the scene.
