HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids have issued a beach hazards statement, in effect at Lakeshore beaches in Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren counties, as well as further north. People visiting beaches are asked to stay out of the water and off the piers.
People headed to the beach can expect dangerous swimming conditions, with strong currents and very high waves. Affected are: Mears State Park in Pentwater, Medbery Park near Montague, Muskegon State Park, The Grand Haven north shore, Holland State Park, North Beach in South Haven, and Tiscornia Park in St Joseph
Piers may be heavily swamped by waves, which will be strong enough to sweep people into the lake. More at whtc.com/weather.
