HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Two seats on the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District Board of Education have been filled.
Last Monday (June 7, 2021), the board reelected Carol Slagh to a six-year term, beginning on July 1st, continuing her 17 years on the board. Slagh, wife of second-term state House Representative Brad Slagh (R-Zeeland Twp.), is currently the board president.

In addition, the board tabbed Robyn Afrik to complete the remaining four years of Ron Eding’s term after his passing earlier this year. Eding was on the board for 23 years. Afrik is currently Ottawa County’s Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Neither Slagh nor Afrik had any opposition in the election that was conducted by representatives of the 11 local school districts served by the regional educational entity.
