ROBINSON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 26-year-old Robinson Township man was injured in a crash involving an all-terrain vehicle in a wooded area late on Friday (June 11, 2021) night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Chris Dill, deputies were dispatched to the area around 118th Avenue and North Cedar Street shortly after 11 PM. “Preliminary investigation at the scene revealed that the driver of the ATV drove over a tree branch that was laying in the trail,” Dill said in a department statement. “When the ATV drove over the branch, the branch penetrated the fender of the ATV and struck the driver, causing a large laceration to his leg.”
While the driver was taken to Mercy Hospital in stable condition for treatment, a 19-year-old Coopersville woman who was a passenger in the ATV was not hurt. The incident remains under investigation.
