HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 14-year-old boy will face charges after a graffiti incident in Georgetown Township reported on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies indicated they were able to find the suspect and determined he is the only one involved, according to police.
The boy is now in the custody of his parents and awaiting a hearing at Ottawa County Juvenile Court, according to Sheriff’s authorities.
Now that the young man has been located, what is to be done with him and what’s his future follow up going to be?
Community service hours, art classes in school, police interaction with family and some sort of reimbursement to the property owners that he defaced.
I think, it’s a start to helping this young man back on the correct path to being a responsible adult. 😎🇺🇸
Ron, Juvenile-court officials typically issue rules for children in this type of situation, which could include restitution, community service, probation and possible stronger penalties of the child and their parents do not comply. The degree of severe consequences is typically related to whether or not the child has any history with police, etc. ~ Peg McNichol
