Roger D. Vander Meulen age 83, of Holland, died Saturday, June 5, 2021, at his home.
He was the son of Rhine and Cornelia Vander Meulen and was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon in 2003.
Rog was a member of Christ Memorial Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1956-1958. He was in window sales for 40 years. He was a Past President and Life Member of the Holland Fish and Game Club and one of the original founders of Wildlife Unlimited (now Outdoor Discovery Center). His favorite place for rest and relaxation was at “Our Point of View”, his cottage on School Section Lake in Walkerville, MI.
Rog is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Rick Vander Meulen of Byron Center, Rhonda and Troy Stahl of Indianapolis; 5 grandchildren, Katelyn, Michelle, and Tyler Stahl, Abigail and Jason Sissing, and Melissa Vander Meulen and fiancée Andre LaTour; in-laws, Mary Vander Meulen, Phyllis Kragt, Rosie, and Harlan Lubbers, Ron and Pam Nienhuis, Bob and Andy Pippel, Howard and Mary Pippel; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Christ Memorial Church, 595 Graafschap Rd. Holland. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Outdoor Discovery Center or Holland Christian Schools.
