HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The lifting of COVID 19-related safety measures for outdoor events in Michigan came just in time for the return of a downtown Holland annual favorite.
The Holland Vintage Car Club stages its “Remember When” Car Show and Cruise on Friday (June 4, 2021). Starting around 8 PM, classic vehicles will be cruising in both directions along 8th Street downtown, between Lincoln and Pine avenues, with the public invited to set up the lawn chairs and watch the spectacle.
The event was a casualty of the novel coronavirus outbreak when it wasn’t held in 2020, disappointing many, including Linda Hart, who watches the vehicles go past her Holland Area Visitors Bureau office. “(The Club) was wondering whether or not they were going to be able to do show and the cruise (this year),” the CVB Executive Director said on “WHTC Morning News” during her weekly “Destination Downtown” segment on Thursday. “Initially, it was just going to be the cruise, but they’re adding the show as well, so if you have any type of hot rod, antique car, speciality car, tricked-out car, bring it on down!”
Car show registration for $10 per vehicle begins at 3 PM, with the show starting at 5 PM at the former Mercury dealership lot at 124 E. 8th Street, and there is a 250-vehicle limit.
