HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Emergency Management officials plan to test outdoor warning sirens at noon, June 4, 2021. The sirens will sound for approximately three minutes.
Siren tests ensure that all systems and procedures are working properly during the peak season for severe weather and related hazards such as tornadoes or hazardous materials release. The tests also promote public awareness of the warning sirens located throughout Ottawa County.
If you hear the sirens at any time other than a planned siren test, seek more information and be aware of your surroundings. You should take appropriate safety actions immediately. Residents are encouraged to review their own emergency preparedness plans and discuss what they would do in the event of a weather-related emergency. Ottawa County Emergency Management also recommends that every citizen have a weather radio to provide up-to-date severe weather information.
