Thelma Lorraine Brower passed away peacefully at her home on May 4, 2021, at the age of 92.
Thelma was born on January 7, 1929, to Louis and Hattie Poll.
As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was always there for her family. Those who have passed on before her include Lloyd Koops, her husband of 25 years; her brothers: Harve Poll, Earl Poll, Bernard Poll & Jasper Poll; her son-in-law, Craig Hubbell; and her step great-grandson, Brady Vanderploog.
She is remembered with love by L. Dale Brower, her husband of 43 years; daughters: Vicki Hubbell, Dawn & Paul Van Dam; sister, Ardith Kalkman, step-sons: Garry & Roxanne Brower, Greg & Anne Brower; grandchildren: Dacia & Marshall Webb, Chase & Sadie Van Dam, Casey & Josh Schrotenboer, Cody & Tacy Van Dam; step-grandchildren: Sarah & Andy Johnson, Brad & Katelyn Brower, Kate & Lucas Vanderploog, Hillary & Mark Tator; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Thelma shared her memories of driving the Silver King tractor while harvesting celery in the muck fields starting at the age of 6. She later worked at the Hamilton Farm Bureau and Dog Life Corporation.
Thelma was highly talented at crocheting and loved to share her work with family and friends. She also loved to search for and collect antique glassware. She was a lifetime member of Hamilton Reformed Church.
A memorial service to honor the life of Thelma will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021at Hamilton Reformed Church, 3554 M-40, Hamilton, MI 49419. Prior to the service, there will be a time of visitation from 5:00-5:45 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland. The family wishes to express their thankfulness and gratitude to Thelma’s friends and neighbors for the many acts of kindness they have shown. The family also will remember with deep appreciation the care and compassion shown by the staff of Hospice of Holland, in particular, staff members, Chris & Erin.
