GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 42-year-old man was injured in a single vehicle crash south of Grand Haven on Sunday (May 9, 2021) afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Knott, deputies and first responders were dispatched to the area of US-31 near Comstock Street just before 4 PM on a report of a rollover accident. An investigation at the scene indicated that the unnamed motorist, driving northbound on the trunk road, was apparently cut off by a unknown red vehicle. To avoid a collision, the motorist swerved onto the shoulder, losing control of his vehicle, which caused it to roll.
The man was taken to North Ottawa Community Hospital for treatment of what Knott described as non-life threatening injuries. The matter remains under investigation, and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT).
