ALLENDALE TWP. MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – There has been another shooting reported at an apartment complex near the Grand Valley State University campus in Allendale.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Hallmeyer, authorities were called to 48 West Apartments off of 48th Avenue around 2:45 AM on Saturday (May 8, 2021), on several reports of gunshots fired outside of building U. “When deputies arrived, they discovered numerous shell casings in the parking lot area,” he said in a department statement. “The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating this incident and attempting to locate any victims.”
This is at least the third such shooting reported at an off-campus living complex near the GVSU campus during this academic year, following incidents on April 10th and November 2nd.
