Joe F Villanueva, 81, was greeted by Heavenly hosts including his parents and 2 brothers on Monday, April 26, 2021.
Born May 22, 1939, in Blanco, TX. Two brothers went before him: Dale and Lucio Villanueva.
He is survived by his wife Jan Villanueva. Together they had four children: Scott (Kristi) Villanueva, Grand Rapids, MI; Melissa (Avery) Aviles, Holland, Mi; Scott (Cheryl) VanOmmeran, Payson, AZ; and Doug (Lisa) VanOmmeran, Fremont, CA. Grandchildren: Austin Villanueva, Jarrett Martin, Danielle Martin, Leah Villanueva, Brendan Villanueva, Jesse Buck, Zach Osenga, Samantha Osenga, Britney Osenga, Jordan Barendse, Andrew Molina, Alissa Molina, Eliana Molina, Heather Almanza; 28 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brother: Rodrigo (Donna) Villanueva, Holland, along with many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a member of North Point Assembly of God, Holland, MI. When diagnosed with cancer in February 2020, he placed his disease at the foot of the cross and left it with Jesus. He did not live in fear but with the grace of God. His life was lived by the Word and his prayer is that all family members come to know the Lord.
Joe retired in 2002 from Hitch Company SAF, Holland MI. He used his retirement days remodeling houses, construction projects, hunting every November for that 12 point buck, and spending time with family and friends. Joe was especially proud of his time as a fastpitch pitcher in Holland for 35 years. I have heard that he struck a lot of guys out. He and Jan spent time enjoying time with each other and sharing life’s memories.
He always said: “I had a good full life. I lived long enough to see my children grow up and give me grandchildren. He always said to “treat people right. Accept one another. Love one another as God loves you.”
Memorials can be made to North Ottawa Community Hospital Hospice House Harborwood Lodge in Spring Lake.
