Margaret Voetberg, age 97, went home to be with her Lord on April 17, 2021. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Jacob S. Voetberg, in 2010. Margaret was a longstanding member of Rusk Christian Reformed Church. She is survived by her children: Sonya and William DeWitt of Round Rock, TX; Marian and James Jordan of New York, NY; Ruth Stassen of Holland; Henry and Vicki Voetberg of Holland; Margaret and John Timmer of Holland; and Esther and Craig Raterink of Zeeland; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, in-laws, and many nieces and nephews in the Netherlands and California. Before marrying Jake in 1952, she worked as a sewing supervisor in sewing factories in the Netherlands. She was a seamstress for Western Michigan, sewing whole wedding parties and making repairs on all types of garments. She was also a skilled violinist and an avid gardener. And in lighter moments, could keep three balls in the air with her juggling skills. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. on April 27, 2021, at Rusk Christian Reformed Church, 10354 92nd Avenue in Allendale. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service. Rev. Mark Neymeiyer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Rusk Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Borculo Christian School Foundation or Rusk Christian Reformed Church.
