MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD
Hope College’s Nick Hoffman and Rebecca Markham each clocked winning 5,000-meter runs on Thursday at the Calvin University Track and Field Invitational.
Hoffman won the men’s race by clocking a time of 15 minutes, 6.14 seconds.
The junior from Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) led a group of three Flying Dutchmen distance runners to finish in the top seven in the event.
Markham won the women’s race with a run of 18:11.01.
The freshman from Hoffman Estates, Illinois (William Fremd) topped a group of three Flying Dutch distance runners to place in the top six in the event.
In the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Jacob Kelley of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford) took second by clocking a time of 10:15.54.
In the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Hannah Kenny of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven) came in second place with a run of 11:18.99.
In the men’s 5,000 meters, freshman Dan Campbell of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton) placed third with a time of 15:35.72, while junior Evan Bleitz of Milan, Michigan (Saline) was seventh at 16:13.86.
In the women’s 5,000 meters, freshman Libby Gorman of Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis) finished runner-up at 18:31.22, while sophomore Anna Mason of Zeeland, Michigan (Libertas Christian) was seventh at 18:51.53.
