HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A virtual training session set for Thursday (Apr. 8, 2021) is geared towards improving rental property relations in Holland.
The city’s Human Relations Commission hosts a panel presentation entitled “Tenant/Landlord Rights and Responsibilities.” From 7 to 8:30 p.m., representatives from the 58th District Court, the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan, Legal Aid of Western Michigan and Good Samaritan Ministries will go over tenant/landlord law, along with updating federal and state moratoriums on evictions.
According to Assistant City Manager Matt Van Dyken, those wishing to get into renting out their property would be wise to check with City Hall first. “If someone is considering renting their house, I would strongly encourage them to call our community and neighborhood services,” he said on “WHTC Talk of the Town” during a recent appearance. “They will be able to go through the regulations to establish a rental.
“We obviously want to make sure that both the tenants and the landlords – both have rights – have a safe situation, so we do run a rental inspection.”
Free registration for the virtual session is available here.
