HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – It looks as if the star of the show in Holland will be making its grand entrance right on time this spring.
With the 91st Tulip Time Festival set to begin on May 1st, officials such as Linda Hart, Executive Director of the Holland Area Visitors Bureau, have had to answer questions from locals and visitors alike as to when the tulips will be blooming around the Tulip City.
“It looks like downtown, because it’s a ‘micro-climate’ (due to the snowmelt system), especially on the north side of the street, or what we call the ‘sunny’ side of the street, will probably be showing color in two to three weeks,” she said on “WHTC Morning News” in a recent appearance. “Full bloom is most likely to be in another month. The lanes, the boulevards, the parks – we’re actually looking at that as four to five weeks.”
After taking 2020 off due to the COVID 19 outbreak, the Tulip Time Festival is slated to run from May 1st through 8th.
