HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a suspicious letter received at the Grand Haven courthouse late Monday, March 29, 2021.
While the letter was “non-specific,” according to Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett, it did express something that “conveyed some concerns. Out of an abundance of caution, operations at the courthouse were halted for a period of time while a sweep of the building was conducted by Sheriff’s Office personnel assisted by the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.”
Bennett said investigators found nothing of a suspicious nature and normal business operations resumed just before 3 p.m. Monday.
He indicated detectives are tracing letter back to its source. Anyone with information, he wrote, is asked to call Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT or contact mosotips.com.
