HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The body recovered from the Grand River Saturday, March 13, 2021, has been identified as Thomas Kasack, 36, who lived in the area of Grand Haven Township but appeared to be homeless, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s authorities.
Mr. Kasack was reported missing on Nov. 13, 2020. He’d last been seen walking along Lake Michigan Drive on Nov. 12. 2020. Police launched an extensive search for him, which included an air search using a Michigan State Police helicopter.
Sheriff’s marine-patrol deputies recovered his body in the water at about 6 p.m. Saturday near the 6300 block of Leonard St. in Polkton Township.
An autopsy performed Monday found no foul play, according to Sheriff’s Capt. Jake Sparks, but police continue investigating.
