Marlin J. Vis, 74, of Zeeland, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021.
Marlin was born in Oakland on May 7, 1946, to Gerrit and Lillian (Hulst) Vis. He graduated from Zeeland High School and Michigan State University. Marlin worked in purchasing at Herman Miller for 37 years prior to his retirement. Marlin is a member of North Street Christian Reformed Church. He served as a counselor and head counselor for the cadet program at Vriesland Reformed Church for 20 years. Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Erma Vis.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lavonne, sons: Ryan Vis and Jamie Anderson of Ann Arbor, Todd and Tami Vis of Dorr; grandchildren: Justen, Jessica, Braxten, Bretten; brothers: Eudell and Mary Jo Vis, Lonnie Vis; sister Lori and Chuck Worst, in-laws: Don and Deb Lems, Karla and Steve Cooley, Beverly and Dan Van Den Beldt; and many extended family members.
A family memorial service will be held Friday, March 19, 2021, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland 49464. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, also at Yntema Funeral Home. Interment will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Calvinist Cadet Corps.
