ZEELAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 31-year-old Allegan man was injured in a single vehicle crash between Zeeland and Hudsonville on Friday evening.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Hallmeyer, the unnamed motorist was driving his pickup on eastbound Chicago Drive around 8:15 PM when, as he passed 56th Avenue, he lost control of his vehicle, which rolled several times before coming to rest off of the right shoulder. First responders had to extricate the man from his cab, and he was taken to Spectrum Health-Zeeland Community Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury to his leg.
“Alcohol appears to be a factor in this crash, and no other persons were involved or injured,” Hallmeyer added as the incident remains under investigation.
