Robert Wayne De Jonge, 84, of Holland, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 5, 2021.
Bob was born in Holland on March 13, 1936, to John and Fannie (Stegenga) De Jonge. He graduated from Holland High School and married Edna McFall. Bob also served his country in the U.S. Army. Bob owned and ran Chicken Bob’s Inn, in Holland from 1971-1977, and retired from Sligh Furniture after twenty-plus years of service. He was a longtime member of Central Wesleyan Church and a current member of Grace Chapel. He was preceded in death by his brother Ernie (Janice) De Jonge, his in-laws: Thelma (Howard) Bolles, Ted (Helen) McFall, Leona Davy, Maxine (Roger) Meeusen, Robert McFall, Gary Bryan, and Juke Van Oss.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna McFall De Jonge, their children: Curt and Karen De Jonge, Cris and Marv Heasley, Jodi and Tim Boeve, Steven and Susan De Jonge; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, siblings: Jan (Gloria) De Jonge, Rich (Ellie) De Jonge, Dave (Marilyn) De Jonge, Rose Bryan, Don (Deb) De Jonge, and sister-in-law Norma Van Oss.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, March 9, 2021, Grace Chapel, 9530 Woodbridge, Zeeland MI 49464. Visitation is 4-6 pm, Monday at Grace Chapel, and 10:30-11:30 Tuesday prior to the service. Interment in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Chapel.
