OLIVE TWP., (WHTC-AM/FM) — A car-bus crash at 144th Ave and New Holland Street in Olive Township sent a 78-year-old bus passenger to Holland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Greg Rotman.
He said deputies on scene learned a 25 year old Holland Township woman, driving a 2000 Honda CR-V east on New Holland Street, failed to stop for the stop sign at 144th Avenue. The crash happened at 2:50 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, according to the police report.
The Honda hit a northbound 2018 Eldorado passenger bus owned by Pioneer Resources, with 45-year-old Holland Township man driving, and the single 78-year-old male passenger.
The force of the crash overturned the bus on the road. The Honda’s driver declined a trip to the hospital after being evaluated by AMR ambulance EMTs at the scene. The bus driver was not hurt.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, Rotman said, which remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
