Startup puts personalized products within shoppers’ grasp. Holland’s Cubi Market prioritizes local markets. It offers residents a way to safely shop locally online, ensuring more of the money they spend stays in the community.
Do More Good joins forces with Nonprofit Hub. Grand Haven-based Do More Good and Nonprofit Hub in Nebraska will join forces to serve more than 40,000 organizations nationwide.
Yoga practitioner helps create community along the Lakeshore. Instructor Julia Fisher is passionate about the physical and mental benefits of yoga. She’s helping people in Muskegon and Grand Haven connect to their deeper selves — and to one another.
Lakeshore Advantage awards $1.8M to 187 small businesses. The economic development organization distributed Michigan Small Business Survival Grant funds in Allegan and Ottawa counties. Recipients, who face significant financial hardship due to the pandemic, will be able to use the money to reopen or remain open.
GRCC-Ferris collaboration keeps student-athletes safe with COVID-19 testing. GRCC basketball players, coaches, and training staff receive weekly COVID-19 antigen tests through a partnership with the Ferris College of Pharmacy. Testing is expected to continue through the end of the season.
Juvenile detention residents helping homeless, others in need. Donations of winter wear, hygiene items, socks and granola bars can be dropped off through Friday, Feb. 26.

Hemlock Crossing Nature Center, 8115 West Olive Road, West Olive; open daily, hours vary: This Ottawa County park is a popular destination during winter. The Nature Center at Hemlock Crossing Park has reopened with special winter hours and offers snowshoe rentals. The Nature Center staff also offers nature and recreation programming year-round, including snowshoe hikes.
