HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 42-year-old man on a bike on Waverly Road was killed when hit by a car, just after 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021.
The crash happened near the Eighth Street intersection, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill.
Police found the man had been southbound on Waverly in the right traffic lane when he was hit from behind by one vehicle, and then a second vehicle. AMR Ambulance rushed him to Holland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The drivers of the two cars were not hurt. The victim’s name is withheld, pending notification of family, according to Dill, and the crash remains under investigation.
Sheriff’s deputies and Holland police officers, along with Holland Township firefighters responded to the scene.
