HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery that happened Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2020, at 12065 Woodview Lane in Holland Township. No shots were fired and no one was physically injured, according to police.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett said the two armed men kicked in the door of the victim’s apartment, and she called 911 to report the men were pointing guns at her.
She had called 911 earlier, after noticing the men near her home. Police were enroute as the men were kicking in the door, Bennett said, and as they pulled up to the scene, the two men fled on foot, running west.
Deputies arrested a 31-year-old man from Allegan County moments later, without incident, Bennett said. The other suspect did escape, and Bennett said that man is a Hispanic male approximately 5-foot-6 inches tall, with a medium build.
Police reported taking a gun from the first suspect when he was arrested.
Police impounded a vehicle believed to have been used by suspects, found abandoned in the apartment complex’s parking lot. A search of vehicle revealed evidence linking suspects in the armed robbery to the car, according to Bennett.
The Allegan County man remains in Ottawa County jail, facing arraignment on several felonies related to the armed home invasion, Bennett said.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives continue looking for the second suspect, asking anyone with information to call Silent Observer at (877) 88-SILENT, or share tips online at MOSOTIPS.com.
