Leon “Lee” Hoeve, 77, of Bentheim, on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, got out of his wheelchair and ran into the arms of Jesus.
Lee was born April 1, 1943, in Zeeland, to Earl and Martha (Hulst) Hoeve. He attended Zeeland High School. Lee served the U.S. Army in the National Guard. He married Sandra Yonker on June 5, 1964, and they raised their children in Bentheim. Lee was a longtime member of Bentheim Reformed Church. For many years Lee worked for Kalkman Redi-Mix/Grand Rapids Gravel. After retirement, he spent a lot of time farming with his son Jeff.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra, their children: Ann and Keith Walters of Bentheim, Jeff and Carie Hoeve of Oakland, Amy and Matt Tanis of Hudsonville; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Samantha and Michael Zeerip(Jace); Elizabeth McCracken(Scarlett); Brea, Brogan, Brinsey, and Bristol Hoeve; Katlyn, and Madison Tanis; his sister Lois and Don Capel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 21, 2020, at Bentheim Reformed Church, 3997 38th St., Hamilton, MI 49419. Visitation will be 2-5pm, Sunday in the Bentheim Reformed Church-Family Life Center. Interment will be in Bentheim Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mobility Worldwide.
