DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Pistons were back on the basketball court for the first time in nine months on Friday night as they dropped a 90-84 exhibition game to the New York Knicks at Little Caesars Arena. The rust from the long layoff showed on Friday night as Detroit committed 22 turnovers and shot 33 percent from the floor. They were also outrebounded by the Knicks 54-41. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and Saddiq Bey both scored 14 points to lead Detroit.
The Pistons 2019-2020 season ended last March 11 when the NBA suspended play at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their record was not good enough to qualify for the NBA Bubble in Orlando. The Pistons and Knicks play another pre-season on Sunday night at Little Caesars Arena.
