Gordon Klouw, 91, passed from this life and went into eternity with his Savior on December 8, 2020.
He was raised in Grand Haven. Graduated from Calvin College and Seminary and did postgraduate studies at U of M. Following his military commitment with the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War, he served three churches as an ordained pastor, one in Holland and two in Southern California. He then joined a partnership in California for 25 years in the furniture, lumber and veneer business. After retirement, he and his wife Barb moved to Green Valley AZ for 14 years before returning “home” to Holland, MI in 2015.
Gord was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Margaret Klouw, and his sister, Betty Klouw. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barb Klouw. They have 3 daughters, Sue (Jer) Burkeen from California, Nancy (David) Rottenberg from Nebraska, Julie (Jay) Vant Land from Alaska. 7 grandchildren, Jeremy Burkeen, Justin Burkeen, Jeff Rottenberg, Kim (Ben) Porath, & Derek Rottenberg, Stephanie Vant Land, Brandon (Abby) Vant Land. And 6 great-grandchildren – Evan, Levi, Ellis, Addie, Millie, Wade.
Gord was a friendly, out-going person, and he was beloved by many friends and family. He will be deeply missed by everyone.
Visitation will be Tuesday December 15th at Christ Memorial Church,
