HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Jamestown Township traffic crash on Eighth Avenue near Quincy Street injured two Byron Center residents.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies learned that a 38-year-old Grandville man, driving a semi-tractor and trailer, was turning into a driveway on Eighth Avenue when an 88-year-old Byron Center man, driving south on Eighth, hit the side of the semi.
The truck driver was unhurt but the Byron Center man and his 82-year-old front-seat passenger went by LIFE ambulance to Metro Hospital for treatment of what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.
Police closed Eighth Avenue for about 90 minutes while the disabled semi truck was removed.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash, which remains under investigation.
