HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Zeeland City Council is set to have a virtual study session at 6 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, followed by a business meeting at 7 p.m.
People can participate by joining the conference call, dialing (408) 418-9388 and using the Webex access code: 179 261 5608.
Some council members will be meeting at the Zeeland City Hall, 21 South Elm St., in Zeeland during such meeting times; others will participate electronically. Area residents who wish to attend may only attend the sessions virtually.
People joining the conference call must put their phones on mute, unless they are speaking as part of the public comment section of the meeting. those who’d rather share a written statement must email it to Clerk@cityofzeeland.com before 5 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 7, 2020.

Among tonight’s agenda items:
- A review of a draft ordinance for new businesses locating in the city
- A fire-code ordinance update
- A recommendation to replace the city’s replace 1997 Ford Sterling Vactor truck with a new one from Fredrickson Supply for $414,410.07.
- Considering a fire command-vehicle bid award to Todd Wenzel Chevrolet: for a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe 4wd PPV, to be used as a command/EMS-response vehicle. This will replace the current truck, a 2006 Tahoe. City officials have budgeted $65,000 for the purchase, and fire officials say they were generous in estimating the truck, with modifications for fire services, would cost $66,833.
- Closed session – property purchase consideration. Any votes made during the closed session are made public afterward.
