HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The Rev. Ellsworth Ten Clay has died, according to Yntema Funeral Home’s announcement. He was 98. The North Dakota native and World War II veteran is a Western Theological Seminary graduate.
He served more than 37 years as a Reformed Church in America pastor, at several churches, including North Holland Reformed Church, First Reformed Church in Muskegon, Fellowship Reformed Church of Lombard, Illinois, Bethel Reformed Church in Holland, and First Reformed Church in Portage. He retired with his wife Betty Jo in 1987, and has since been a long-time member of Christ Memorial Reformed Church.
Betty Jo Ten Clay preceded him in death, as did his 14 siblings. He’s survived by a son and daughter and their families as well as a wide circle of many other relatives.
Visitation is set for 9:30 to 10:45 Thursday morning, December 10, at Christ Memorial Church, in Holland, with services immediately following at 11. Memorial gifts may be made to Western Theological Seminary.
