Yut Tun, 58, of Holland, passed away at Holland Hospital on Saturday, November 28, 2020.
Yut was born in Battambong, Cambodia, on May 3, 1962. In 1979, she fled from the Khmer Rouge with her family. Yut, her brother, and her cousin escaped to Thailand and the Kowedan Camp there. They moved later to the Mairout Camp in Thailand because they were orphans when Yut was 20. Six months later they moved to the Phillipines, and in 1982 immigrated to Minnesota, USA. Yut had met Lee Tun in Thailand as refugees, they both traveled to the Philippines but were split apart when arriving to the United States. Yut stayed in Rochester, Minnesota until reconnecting with Lee Tun, who was staying in Chicago at the time. She moved to Chicago, and Yut and Lee married. They eventually moved to Holland for the job opportunities in 1985. In 2002, they had a son, Randy. Yut and Lee both work at Eagle Design and Technology.
Yut is survived by her husband Lee, son Randy, brother Ren Ouch and his wife Ratana Khin, in-laws: Saroeun Sourn, Kim Ouk, Saroun Tun, Reen Tun, Ou Khun; and extended family and friends.
A family funeral service will be livestreamed from the Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home-Facebook Page at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 5, 2020. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm, Friday, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th Street, Holland 49423. Interment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
