PRESS RELEASE (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Thanksgiving Day traffic crash sent a 44-year-old West Olive man to Holland Hospital for treatment of several non-life-threatening injuries, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Greg Rotman.
Police were called to the intersection of West Olive Road at Port Sheldon Street, in Olive Township, just after 6 p.m. Nov. 26, 2020.
A 50-year-old West Olive man told police he was driving a 2020 GMC Sierra north on West Olive Road, and stopped at Port Sheldon Rd before heading into the intersection. But he didn’t see a 2000 Chevy Silverado headed east on Port Sheldon Street. The two trucks collided at the intersection.
The second driver, a 44-year-old West Olive man, went by AMR ambulance to Holland Hospital. No one else was injured, according to Sgt. Rotman, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash, which remains under investigation.
