PRESS RELEASE (WHTC-AM/FM) — A teenager is in Ottawa County’s juvenile detention facility awaiting arraignment on several charges related to an alleged armed robbery, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill.
Deputies were called to Holiday West Mobile Home Park, 3611 Butternut Drive in Park Township, just before 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020. There, they learned from the teenaged victim he’d made plans via social media to buy some items from another teen — someone he knew. But when the suspect arrived at the victim’s home, he had a handgun and took money from the victim, according to Dill.
Deputies quickly found the suspect, arresting him without incident, recovering the weapon they believe used in the robbery — a pneumatic air pistol.
This incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
