During last night’s NBA Draft, while the Chicago Bulls settled for 6-8 Florida State forward Patrick Williams and 6-11 center Marko Simonovic of Montenegro, the Pistons were busy. Detroit selected 6-5 French guard Killian Hayes with the seventh overall choice, dealt Luke Kennard to the LA Clippers in a three-way deal with the Brooklyn Nets to obtain 6-9 forward Saddio Bay of Villanova, sent a future first round choice to the Houston Rockets in order to take 6-9 center Isaiah Stewart of Washington, and finished by getting 6-2 guard Saben Lee, who had been chosen by the Utah Jazz in the second round.
No University of Michigan players were taken in the draft; among those from Michigan State, 6-9 forward Xavier Tillman was taken in the second round by the Sacramento Kings and was promptly traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, while 6-1 guard Cassius Winston was also tabbed in the second round by the Oklahoma City Thunder and dispatched to the Washington Wizards.
