DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Even as results from Tuesday’s Presidential election were being finalized, Michigan’s governor says she is not following Joe Biden to Washington D.C.
There had been much speculation over the summer on whether Biden was going to choose Gretchen Whitmer as his running mate. That has also led to discussion whether there would be a cabinet position available for her in Biden’s administration.
Speaking to Detroit television station WDIV Sunday, Whitmer was asked whether she would consider a cabinet position on Biden’s administration. She told the station “I have been very clear all along. I have no intention of leaving. I love being the governor of Michigan. I feel grateful for being here. I have a lot of work to do. I think I can be a great partner to a Biden-Harris administration from right here at home. I think they are going to be a great partner to Michigan.”
