HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Two men were arrested Friday morning after a gun incident at a Riley Street gas station in Ottawa County. No injuries were reported.
Sheriff’s authorities said, in a statement emailed to media, deputies were called to the West Shore Mobil Mart, 12575 Riley St., on the report of a man pointing a shotgun at people in the parking lot.
While police were nearing the scene, they learned suspects left the scene in a black pickup truck.
Deputies were able to find the truck, which was empty, crashed into a ditch a short distance from the gas station. Deputies, with an assist from City of Holland police officers, found the two suspects near the crash scene.
Sheriff’s K-9 units and road patrol officers searched the area for several hours and did recover the shotgun believed used in the incident.
The truck’s driver, arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence, also faces a charge of leaving the scene of a crash. The passenger faces charges of felonious assault and possession of a firearm while intoxicated. The suspects’ names will be released upon their respective arraignments.
