PRESS RELEASE (WHTC-AM/FM) — After a five-week investigation into the beating death of Holland Township resident Juan Villarreal, 32, Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a Jeremy Taylor, 38, of Pullman.
Villarreal died on Sept. 26, 2020 at his Holland Township home after coming home with signs of having been battered.
Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett said in a statement emailed to media that detective learned Taylor and Villarreal knew one another.
On the evening of Sept. 25 the two men fought at Villarreal’s home on Fourth Avenue. Villarreal suffered what police called “a significant head injury” leading to his death, according to the medical examiner’s report. The investigation shows that Taylor delivered the blow that caused the death of Villarreal, Bennett said.
