DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Detroit Tigers second baseman Jonathan Schoop is one of four finalists for the American League Gold Glove Award tonight. The others are the Indians’ Cesar Hernandez, the Royals’ Nicky Lopez and Danny Mendick of the White Sox.
It would be Schoop’s first Gold Glove.
MLB’s Most Valuable Player Award finalists are out. In the National League, they are Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Manny Machado. In the AL, the finalists are Jose Abreu, D.J. LeMahieu and Jose Ramirez. Winners will be announced a week from Thursday.
MLB will hand out Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year and Cy Young Awards next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. The National League Cy Young finalists are Trevor Bauer, Yu Darvish and Jacob deGrom.
In the American League, they are Shane Bieber, Kenta Maeda and Hyun Jin Ryu.
