HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Holland firefighters were busy late on Friday night after a mobile home blaze at 1055 Lincoln Street, Lot 53.
According to Captain of Fire Operations Chris Tinney, crews were dispatched to a lot in the Willow Park complex off of Lincoln Avenue shortly before 11 p.m.
“Callers reported smoke coming from the roof of a mobile home and it was unknown if it was occupied,””he said in a Department of Public Safety online statement. “The interior search by firefighters revealed that there were no occupants in the home at the time of the fire.
“The fire was knocked down quickly after arrival and crews remained in scene for about an hour and a half completing the extinguishing efforts, searching for hot spots and reloading equipment. Although the home sustained significant damage, direct fire damage was contained to the rear of the home. The timely efforts by firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to 3 other mobile homes that are adjacent to the initial fire building.”
No injuries to firefighters or residents were reported by Tinney, who added that the HDPS Fire Marshal’s office will initiating an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
