HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Another Holland City Council meeting is on tap for this evening.
With no pre-meeting discussions planned, the governing panel’s bi-weekly business session begins in Holland City Hall at 6:30 PM. Among the items to be considered on the agenda is a recommendation to adopt a Housing Development Support Policy, put forward by the city’s Neighborhood Improvement Committee. According to Community Development Coordinator and Planner Mark Kornelis, this would establish a Housing Development Support Program that would “assist staff with providing more targeted (goals) and consistently advise to council in its consideration of approving city-managed development incentives.”
Also on tap is a recommendation to adopt an Alternative Fuel Vehicle and Equipment Purchasing Policy, in keeping with Council’s decision eight years ago to establish a Community Energy Plan that set a carbon dioxide goal of 10 metric tons per capita by 2050. According to Finance Director and Treasurer Tim Vagle, “The policy is not intended to force the acquisition of vehicles/equipment that do not meet operating/mission requirements, or have life cycle costs greater than non-electric/alternative fuel alternatives.”
