SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 41-year-old South Haven man is in the Van Buren County Jail on charges stemming from a illegal narcotics bust in his hometown last Thursday.
According to the office of Sheriff Daniel Abbott, his department’s deputies, along with South Haven Police officers, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Spencer Street. This came following several controlled buys by detectives from a joint undercover narcotics unit over the past several months. The bust not only included the arrest of William Sledge, but the seizures of cocaine, packaging materials and additional items “linked to the sale of narcotics.”
Sledge was arraigned on possession of cocaine charges, with additional charges of delivery of crack cocaine pending. The case remains open, and anyone with any information can contact the Van Buren Sheriff’s Department, Crime Stoppers (800-342-7867) or Silent Observer (269-657-3101).
