HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A stolen semi-tractor trailer and a high-speed chase though Allegan and Ottawa counties has resulted in the arrest of two teens, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Nicholas Knott. No one got physically hurt.
Police were summoned after the semi-tractor trailer took off from ALTL Inc., a transportation and logistics company at 3000 Corporate Grove in Hudsonville, police said.
The stolen semi’s GPS, helped authorities find it, but the driver refused to pull over, The pursuit eventually involved Michigan State Police and Zeeland police.
Authorities used spikes strips to slow down the semi, which went off the road, getting stuck in a Hudsonville residential neighborhood.
The 16-year-old driver, and a 14-year-old passenger, were arrested at the scene without incident, Knott said in an email to media.
The 16-year-old went to Ottawa County’s youth home and is awaiting arraignment on several charges.
Police released the 14-year-old was released to parental custody, but charges will also be filed against that teen through Ottawa County Juvenile Courts.
